Back To School

If you have ever listened to “This American Life” on MPR, you know the show always starts out with the disclaimer that “some or all content may not be suitable for young listeners”. And often that is the case, but I listen anyway. This particular show, “Back To School”, should have run the disclaimer, “this content is critical and intended for ALL listeners!”
Ira Glass, the shows host, explores the question that seems to be, and should be, at the front of all education reform – What can we do to make schools better? The answer is not what one is used to hearing, but one that I believe is a really good answer.
Have a listen and let us know what you think.

This was one of the best interviews I have heard in a very long time! I am currently teaching Students and Families at Risk and sent my students links to the podcast and have ordered the book “How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character” By Paul Tough. This is a MUST HEAR and MUST READ for all educators! Thanks for posting…
