RTI and Bright Futures…

by

I am very excited about this opportunity for middle level educators to have a place to discuss challenges and successes of moving forward with middle level education in Maine.

I know that my school (Maranacook) has really been emersed in the push for RTI while at the same time trying to continue to foster best practices in middle level education as described in Bright Futures…. I wonder how other schools are facing this and would love to hear about that!

    Mary,
I hear a lot of different interpretations of RTI as I travel. Here is a blog I found on secondary school approaches to RTI: http://cecblog.typepad.com/rti/2009/01/rti-in-secondary-schools-a-review-of-the-literature.html It does not recommend transposing the elementary RTI model to middle and high schools. It’s sponsored by the Council for Exceptional Children.

There is a wiki at http://middleschoolrti.pbworks.com/ which gathers together some resources concerning RTI in middle schools.
